Read through the steps and decide on
how to proceed for your own situation, using the large red
headings to guide you.

Before you start
you will need:
|
1.) A keyboard and mouse
(PS2 or USB are both OK) - connected to rear of Image Box
|
2.) An OS installer CD
version 3.2.0
|
3.) The Software License
Keys for your machine (supplied at time of installation)
|
*see note at bottom of
page if you have lost these
|
4.) If possible - the
backup disks for Workstation and Kiosk modes (you should make
these from time to time and they will have been done after
installation)
|
|
1.) Everybody -
Re-writing the
software onto the hard disk
|
1.) Place CD in
drive and turn Image box off and then back on |
2.) Wait until
Norton Ghost has copied the drive across and a message is
displayed to tell you to remove the CD and restart the Image Box |
3.) Follow this
message - remove the CD and restart the Image Box - having
connected your keyboard and mouse |
4.) Wait for the
process to complete when it will finish with a screen where a
girl in an Agfa catsuit asks you to select Workstation or Kiosk
mode - you select Kiosk |
Note - If the touch
screen cursor fails to follow your finger (in fact it may be
exactly opposite to what you touch) use the mouse instead and
follow instructions for Touch Screen Calibration below

2.) Then either
- Reload
backups from disk
(if you have
made / kept disks)
|
1.) With Kiosk mode
launched you tap the Agfa logo (top left of screen) 3 times to
be asked for a password - the password is -
eboxservice |
2.) This will launch
the grey screen (control area for all kiosk settings) |
3.) If
required now you do Touch Screen Calibration, just launch
it with the mouse from the options down the right hand side and follow the on screen prompts for Calibrate
by touching targets etc then simply exit this and return to step
4. If the touch screen was OK then skip step 3. |
4.) Go to save
and restore settings and reload kiosk backup from disk |
5.)
Launch Workstation mode from grey screen and
select settings, user level, administrator and
when asked for a password just hit OK (there is no password) |
6.)
Select settings, restore and then load
settings from your workstation backup disk |
Or
- Proceed
without backup disks
(if you have
not made / kept disks)
If this is the case please ensure that backups are regularly
made in the future for both kiosk and workstation |
1.) With Kiosk mode
launched you tap the Agfa logo (top left of screen) 3 times to
be asked for a password - the password is -

2.) This will launch
the grey screen (control area for all kiosk settings) |
3.) If
required now you do Touch Screen Calibration, just launch

4.) Go to Password
and hit enter new password and then OK without
typing anything, repeat in the confirm password box immediately
below, then hit Save. This removes the password so
that eboxservice will not be needed again. |
5.)
Select software licenses on grey screen and type
in codes manually. |
6.)
Select order settings on grey screen and type in
print sizes manually. |
7.)
Select device and service settings on grey screen
and choose type(s) of minilab and/or instant printer you use. |
8.) Launch
Workstation mode from grey screen and select settings,
user level, administrator and when asked for a password
just hit OK (there is no password) |
9.)
Select settings, machine settings, software license codes
and manually enter your codes. |
10.)
Select settings, orders and manually enter your
print sizes. |
11.)
Be sure to make backup disks in future! |

3.)
Direct
connection? - Between your
Image Box and your D-lab |
If your Image Box and
your D-Lab are joined by a straight wire (often red) and do not
pass through a network in your building then no changes are
required. |
or
Network Connection? - Between
your Image Box and your D-lab |
Only
change the network settings if your network requires a change form the
default IP address of 192.168.1.120 which is used by all Image
Boxes. This will be a decision for your IT controller. |
1.)
Hit the Windows key on your keyboard and then select Control
Panel and then Network Connections |
2.)
Right click on LAN or local area network and select Properties |
3.) Select TCP/IP
(usually the bottom option) and then hit tab for Properties |
4.) Enter the IP
address for your Image Box it will currently be showing
192.168.1.120, the IT controller will allocate a new address and
the D-Lab will need set accordingly. |

4.)
Everybody
- Change
the card reader name and configuration |
1.) Hit Windows key
and select Run... |
2.) Type regedit.exe
and select OK |
3.) Browse through to |
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\Software\Agfa\Agfa-box |
4.) Double click on DriveConfig
(about half way down window on right) and change from
"auto" to Manual |
5.) Double click on DriveName
and change from "ERROR: unknown device" to Card Reader |
6.) Go to File,
then save and exit. |

5.)
If
you have a later type camera card reader -
Change drive paths |
If you have a YE-data
card reader (black face panel - most of our customers in
Northern Ireland have these) then the card types shown on screen
will not match the card slots. If you just put a card in and let
it auto detect there is no problem but if you want to hit the
card type on screen and then put the card in then you must make
these changes: |
1.) Hit the Windows
key and select My Computer |
2.) Go to |
C: \ Program Files\Agfa\Agfabox\Proflie\MEDIADRV.INI |
3.) Change the path
letters to the ones listed, making sure to use upper case |
CF card - E:\ |
SM & XD - F:\ (except
Falls Phy in Cookstown where XD card is I) |
SD & MMC - H:\ |
Memory Stick (MS) -
G:\ |
USB (front socket, in
card reader) - K:\ |
4.) Go to File
and then save and exit |

6.)
If
you get a start up error -
"Please remove all media
from their drives" |
1.) Hit the Windows
key and select My Computer |
2.) Go to |
C :\ WINDOWS\System32\usb-repair.ini |
3.) Change HubWaitTime
from 500 to 5000 |
4.) Go to File
and then save and exit |

* If
you can not find your Software License Keys then hit I for info
(circle in top right of screen in workstation mode) and select
version info, then note the machine ID of your unit and contact
the A&O service centre for your area. You will need to know
which licenses you purchased with the unit in order to ask for
copies of the codes. Without at least having the Workstation
license loaded the kiosk will not work at all. |
